Ron BohmerRon Bohmer (Captain Georg von Trapp)

is delighted to return to The New Theatre, where he last starred as THE SCARLET PIMPERNEL.

On Broadway and national tour, Ron has starred as the Phantom in THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, Joe Gillis in SUNSET BOULEVARD (Jefferson Award nomination), as the swashbuckling hero in THE SCARLET PIMPERNEL (National Broadway Theatre Award nomination), Also on Broadway, Ron was featured as Alex in ASPECTS OF LOVE (LA Robby award), and as the evil Sir Percival Glyde in THE WOMAN IN WHITE, Enjolras in LES MISERABLES and Fyedka in FIDDLER ON THE ROOF. He recently completed a 64-week tour of the U.S. and Canada, starring as Coach Bolton in the cultural phenomenon DISNEY'S HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL.

Off-Broadway roles include - Sebastian in THE THING ABOUT MEN, Howard in THE JOYS OF SEX, the title role in THE THIRD PERSON, the 10th anniversary cast of I LOVE YOU, YOU'RE PERFECT, NOW CHANGE and multiple roles in New York's long-running comedy hit FORBIDDEN BROADWAY (2005 Drama Desk award). Regional Performances include the title role in FLOYD COLLINS at Actors Theatre of Louisville, Volodya in BED & SOFA at the Wilma Theatre in Philadelphia (best actor nomination ­ Barrymore Award), the title role in the U.S. premiere of DRACULA at North Shore Music Theatre, Ravenal in SHOWBOAT (also at NSMT), the title role in PHANTOM (with his wife, Sandra Joseph) at Salt Lake's Pioneer Theatre, and Billy in ANYTHING GOES at the Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera. He most recently starred as Father in the critically acclaimed revival of RAGTIME at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. which will move to Broadway this Fall.

Television appearances include LAW & ORDER SVU, RESCUE ME, RYAN'S HOPE, ONE LIFE TO LIVE and AS THE WORLD TURNS. Recordings include two solo CD's, Everyman and Another Life, and the cast recordings of THE THING ABOUT MEN, FORBIDDEN BROADWAY-S.V.U., BROADWAY BY THE YEAR-1929 and BROADWAY UNPLUGGED 2.

As a concert soloist, Ron has appeared at Radio City Music Hall, Lincoln Center, The Kennedy Center, New York City's Town Hall and with symphony and pops orchestras across the country (you can see video of some of his recent concert performances at ronbohmer.com). In a 25-year career in the theatre, Ron has been privileged and grateful to work with such renowned artists as Andrew Lloyd Webber, Jerome Robbins, Trevor Nunn, Harold Prince, James Hammerstein, John Caird, Tim Rice, Betty Comden, Adolf Green, Jerry Mitchell, Juliette Prowse, Maury Yeston, Sarah Brightman, Frank Wildhorn, Francesca Zambello, Gerard Alessandrini and Ruth Mitchell.

Ron is married to actress/writer Sandra Joseph. He is the proud father of two daughters - Cassidy (who begins her college career this fall at Mount Holyoke College in the inaugural year of their 21st Century Scholars program, majoring in neuroscience and politics) and Austin (an aspiring performer who appears as Liesl in the final weeks of this production).
