Thanks for Getting Us Here!

The show you are seeing today, CHURCH BASEMENT LADIES, marks the beginning of the 16th season of comedies and musicals at New Theatre Restaurant. There’s only one reason we’re here today - you. Thank you for allowing New Theatre to be a part of your life. We owe a particular thanks to our season ticket holders. Regardless of whether you come with one of our season groups, have a season gift certificate, have had season tickets since Tiffany’s Attic and the Waldo Astoria or just purchased them this year, our sincere thanks! It is your support that has made us the most-attended year-round professional theatre in the region. We want you to know that having you trust us with your entertainment dollars is not a responsibility that we take lightly. We will continue to work very hard to earn your appreciation. How can we not?

Let me share with you a note we received from a season ticket holder recently.

“My husband & I moved to Collins Mo. in 1997 ­ gave up our Lyric Opera & Mo Rep season tickets but kept these tickets. We drive 125 miles to KC & 125 miles home, so you can see what we think of you, the shows & staff. Thank you.” ­ Charles & Arlene Burt

Well, there’s no question we owe this couple a great night out. Here’s another one:

“Now that I am retired I considered moving, but I decided NO. I want to see the next New Theatre show and the next and the next. This place is addictive, and the vittles‹wow!! New Theatre is the best entertainment around and the price is right. Love you!!” ­ The Brejcas

These and many more letters, e-mails and phone calls serve to remind us that there are a lot of people counting on us and we are going to do our best for each and every one of them. Thank you for making New Theatre a part of your birthdays, anniversaries, wedding proposals and special nights out. You are the reason we’ve made it 15 years in Overland Park and 35 years in Kansas City (Tiffany’s Attic opened in 1972. Can you believe it?)!
